Story:
Young Cabiria is kidnapped by pirates, during an eruption of Mount Etna and is sold as a slave in Carthage. When she is prepared to be sacrificed to god Moloch, the giant slave, Maciste shows up to save her, together with his master, a Roman noble.

The story is partially based on the historical novel Salammbô, first published in 1862, written by the French novelist, Gustave Flaubert. Would you like to read the book?
