Story:
A story about the human soul with a delightful morale. The farmer and his wife used to be happy together, but in recent years he grew to neglect her.
When a pretty woman from the city show up, spending her holiday, the two falls in love. The temptress wants to run away with the farmer and promises a new and exciting life for him, if he can only get rid of his wife, by drowning her.
Boasting masterful cinematography to match its well-acted, wonderfully romantic storyline, Sunrise is perhaps the final — and arguably definitive — statement of the silent era.
