The movie tells the tale of Richard Hannay, a Canadian visitor of London, who meets Annabella Smith, a woman who is on the run from foreign agents. Hannay hides her in his apartment, but when she is found stabbed to death, he knows he will be accused of the murder.
Now Hannay is on the run from the police, trying to break the spy ring and prove his innocence.
Packed with twists and turns, this essential early Alfred Hitchcock feature hints at the dazzling heights he’d reach later in his career.
