The Gold Rush (1925)

In the hope of finding a gold deposit, the Little Tramp ventures into a high mountain of harsh and dangerous conditions in Alaska. Just after finding the ore, a blizzard strikes and he becomes trapped in a little cabin with two other gold diggers.
When the storm takes so long that they run out of food, hunger and delirium take over their minds. Cooking and eating a shoe is just the beginning…

A delightful blend of slapstick humor, poignant emotion, and social commentary, The Gold Rush encapsulates Chaplin’s strengths as a writer, director, and star.
